Erion Honda's Kurtis Roberts continues to be frustrated with his lack of competitiveness, in Superbike. He says the machine is the root of his problem. "I'm riding around on this thing that shouldn't be on the racetrack. I'm not happy with it whatsoever and it better get a lot better real fast, or ... I'm going to be watching, I think," says Roberts.
Roberts -- who won two of the last three races in 2003 before leaving for MotoGP -- finished 12th on Saturday at Fontana. "I'm almost so out of control on the thing that it's dangerous. I spend 90% of the time recovering from what the thing's doing. It tankslaps. It want so take off in the corners. It doesn't know what it wants to do," he said.
Is there a specific area that the handling lacks? "It doesn't handle at all. It's the worse complete package I've ever had, " said Roberts. "And I've ridden a lot of them. It's worse than the Proton. We need to make something a lot better. "
Roberts says the power is pretty good, though. "It's frustrating too because you are riding with guys and I can see how much faster I could go. But I can't actually make the bike (do it). I think I put more effort today getting 12th than I have when I won."
