Yesterday's announcement by the AMA that they intend to uphold the traction control rule in the technical regulations has set the rumor forest ablaze with stories (some well-placed, some not) erupting all around the US.
The most popular rumor has it that the AMA intends to impound not one but two factory Superbikes this weekend at Road America and have them sent to an unnamed lab for technical inspection of the engine management systems.
Will one of those bikes be a Ducati? Reportedly, Ducati has a functioning traction control system on their Superbikes but it only sees use in testing (ahhhh, okay).
Internet message boards are also erupting like a teenager's face after a pizza party on the subject of traction control. One fan sent Soup a link to some home video shot at Barber Motorsports Course earlier in the season comparing Superbikes and Superstock bikes in one portion of the track. The footage is quite interesting.
Please note we did not shoot this video or have anything to do with its production, editing or hosting. We only like it because it's the only home-cam footage we've ever seen which doesn't appear to be shot by someone in the middle of an epileptic fit.
