ANNOUNCEMENT - FRANK SHEENE

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Barry Sheene's father Frank Sheene.

Franco, as he was affectionately known, passed away peacefully last night at his Australian home. He was 96.

Franco was a legendary bike builder and tuner, who was no mean rider either. Frank was responsible for fettling most of Barry's bikes during his early career and was always on hand with a spanner or some worldly advice, even when Barry became a works rider.

He leaves daughter Maggie Smart, married to ex-Ducati rider Paul, and grandchildren British Superbike rider Scott and Paula.
