Sources close to Hardcard Holdings confirmed yesterday that Hardcard will make a proposal to the AMA, which if successful, will see them take over the promotional and marketing rights of the AMA Superbike series.
Hardcard is made up of three former AMA Pro Racing execs: former VP Andy Leisner and John Farris run the firm day to day, while former AMA Pro Racing CEO Scott Hollingsworth has an advisory role with Hardcard.
A number of persons and entities are said to be interested in the Superbike series. The rumor list includes Roger Edmondson and or the MotoST series (which would presumably include former racer Steve McLaughlin and the France family), and also LiveNation, which currently promotes the AMA Supercross series. Also, it is said that the Flammini brothers, Maurizio and Paolo, who own the World Superbike series, may also be interested in the AMA series.
Meanwhile, the manufacturers seem to be getting more worried about the direction of the series by the day.
