Colin Edwards II came to Laguna this week with what he believed to be the best chance he's had in his MotoGP career to win in America.
Too bad his neck won't cooperate.
Former AMA 250 and World Superbike champ Edwards finished today's MotoGP practice in seventh spot, well over a second off Casey Stoner's fast time. Michelin riders like Edwards are just trying to hang onto the edge of the plot at the moment.
Exacerbating Edwards' plight here at Laguna is his very sore neck, injured in his race fall at Sachsenring. Edwards is wearing a bandage on his neck and looked unnaturally stiff yesterday.
Despite the Texas Tornado's neck-twister, however, Edwards will give it the ol' College Station try and tough it out in order to try to give Herve Poncheral's Tech 3 squad its first-ever Laguna MotoGP win.
