Pedrosa just left in a car and is on his way to SFO and is flying home. His injuries from Sachsenring, when he tossed it with a multi-second lead in the race, make it impossible for him to ride.

Also, the reason he is leaving is because of his injury, not because the tires Michelin brought to Laguna will only come up to temperature if the race were held on the Sun.
