2008 was an interesting year for Welshman racer Chaz Davies. The former Ducati MotoGP project rider signed to race the Attack Kawasaki machines in '08 and hit the ball clean out of the park on his first try. After smoke cleared from the disqualification of the Erion Honda ridden by his friend Josh Hayes, Davies was awarded the win in the Daytona 200. He became the first UK rider to win the 200.
Davies didn't seem over-impressed with his Daytona win and after that triumph his season torqued up and down the results sheets. At times, Davies didn't seem himself on the Attack machine but it wasn't until after the Ohio round of the series that he confessed that his lanky legs might be causing him issues on the green bike.
He confirmed just before the holidays that he was currently rideless but remained optimistic that something would open up for him in 2009.
