Little guy on the right hand side. Look familiar?
image thanks, goat's mechanic
Today's archive images from Loudon include a fairly rare photograph of John Kocinski and Miguel DuHamel together on a 250 podium. Kocinski was the rider DuHamel was gunning for in his rookie year in AMA 250 racing. Kocinski, even today, remains a rider that DuHamel will not refer to by name (usually calling him "that one guy"). DuHamel was probably never so happy as the day he smoked JK in the Daytona 600 Supersport race.

For this 250 race, however, DuHamel's weekend was put off by a lack of sleep. He had raced in Japan the weekend before, arriving in Montreal with just enough time to drive to Loudon.

It remains an obvious truth in racing that the three people who can't read a map to save their very lives are Nick Hayden, Miguel DuHamel and myself.

Then Lassak Yamaha 250 rider DuHamel, and his father, Yvon, hammered South with Miguel arriving in town with plenty of time to rest before practice started. It's just that Miguel had mistakenly driven to "London" New Hampshire, forcing another mad dash in the middle of the night to Loudon, New Hampshire.
