Not many would remember this, but Doug Polen and Miguel Duhamel were once teammates.

It was the 1990 Suzuka 8-Hour. Polen, who was racing full-time in the Japanese series, and Duhamel, who was racing for Yoshimura Suzuki in AMA Superbike, came together to race the famous Suzuki GSX-R750R for Yoshimura SUZUKI sietto GP1.

The duo qualified eighth and in the race, ran to a solid sixth-place finish. That was the year Eddie Lawson and Tadahiko Taira won the race on the Tech 21 Yamaha.

Suzuka 1990 was likely the biggest crowd either Polen or Duhamel raced in front of. A reported 160,000 fans crammed into the prestigious event that year.
