Honda's 800cc V4 MotoGP Bike Breaks Cover At Motegi

Honda's '07 800cc MotoGP racer broke cover today at Motegi. It features an 800cc V4 engine.

Here a Japanese test rider takes the 800 out for some laps. Note how short the bike is from nose to tail.

Possible note for future use: ain't no way Earl Hayden's going to fit on the back for Laguna victory laps.

Clearly a work in progress, the 800 V4 is still a few clean-up designs away from being a polished and tidy HRC machine.

Dani Pedrosa rode the 800; Hayden did not. Here they talk about it.

Judging from the images, MotoGP bikes have lost none of their ferocious sound.

Motegi is a difficult track to judge speed of a new bike because of the hairpins. Regardless, being only a half second off a 990 race time is impressive.

There is an 800cc machine with Hayden's number on it, but he did not ride the machine today.

For when you've got to have quick access to whatever is behind that particular piece of carbon fiber.

HRC makes the best carbon fiber pieces of any of the Japanese MotoGP teams. Look on an salivate.

Several interested parties watch the new 800 V4 lap at Motegi.
