Photographer Tom Hnatiw sent us these images from USGPs gone by last night. The negs are starting to deteriorate but the images are still evocative.	He never liked Laguna. He still doesn't like Laguna. He's Kevin Schwantz and he really wishes the USGP had been held somewhere else when he rode.	Yet, his Laguna Seca track record stood for the better part of five years.	Eddie Lawson, just hours before the brakes on his 1990 Yamaha YZR500 OWC1 catastrophically failed, landing him in the hospital.
Schwantz and the year they were sponsored by the sugar-water people.	JP Ruggia leads Schwantz and Campsa Honda rider Sito Pons--now a team owner--through the Corkscrew.	Schwantz hugs the apex of the old turn two at Laguna Seca. Note the camo' helmet, worn that year to show support of the troops in Iraq.	The all-out master of Laguna Seca on a Grand Prix 500, Wayne Wesley Rainey, a couple of turns before the curve that is now named after him.
