The VFR 1200F will be available in two models (each candy red). A manual 6-speed and the new automatic using dual clutch technology. The auto version will offer three riding modes, dry, sport and paddle shift manual. These cut-away shots show Honda's new fully DTC automatic trans. The gearbox uses a dual-clutch, each operated by coaxial transmission shafts, one running inside the other. With a double clutch system the gear selected is followed immediately by the next shift, with the optimal gear already waiting to engage. |

New seat manufacture process, vulcanizing of sorts directly attaches the seat cover to the seat foam, No baggy or stretched vinyl. Also, the process now allows Honda to include much more intricate saddle shaping, detail and design. |
The combined lengths of the long single-sided swing arm, forward mount drive coupler with internal damping, a compact overall engine length, drive shaft offset from swing arm pivot and fly by wire softening throttle response has this shaft drive almost reacting like a true chain drive, less the maintenance. |
Like the CBR, the frontal shape is still blunt. New ducting just outboard of the headlight brings cooling air to the engine, while more ducting evacuates warmed air out of the cockpit and away from the rider. |
Within the fairing, symmetrical or equal length header pipes use complex routing, this needed for optimal performance. Note the horizontal routing viewed from the front. Normally headers exit exhaust ports in a vertical direction, not horizontal. Unreal attention to detail. |
