Dallas Daniels will race this weekend at the dual Springfield Miles (2), five weeks after breaking his femur in a motocross training crash.
This means that JD Beach's quest for the Grand Slam will not happen this season.
The current members of the Grand Slam Club include Dick Mann, Kenny Roberts, Bubba Shobert, and Doug Chandler. Chandler, a three-time Superbike champion, was the most recent rider to join the elite group—an achievement that dates back thirty-five years.
To earn a place in the prestigious Grand Slam Club, a rider must secure victories in every discipline that once defined the nearly century-old Grand National Championship. This means conquering the Mile, TT, Half-Mile, Short Track, and Roadrace races, each of which demands a unique blend of skill, precision, and most certainly versatility. Mastering all five disciplines is a rare and formidable feat, showing a rider's adaptability, or mastery, across vastly different racing environments. The challenge of excelling in both dirt and pavement, as well as in varying track lengths and formats, underscores the exceptional talent required to join this elite group.
Many legendary riders aren't in the Grand Slam Club, from the late Ricky Graham to Jay Springsteen to Scott Parker.
