ALLAN ENGEL(1/8)
Black Bart Markel's Harley 750 racer, 1968. Note both clutch and brake lever are on the left hand side, tank is partially held down with bungee cords. Markel was the Mat Mladin of his era; he was the baddest guy in the paddock. Every race was like the "little stomach ache" press conference at Mid-Oh. He made his wife drive to the races (from Michigan!) so he "could think".

Ralph Bryans going out for practice at Daytona on the Honda 750-4. The bike later went up in flames which set off a for real political firestorm when Dick Mann nursed his Honda to the win. Honda Japan were pissed!

The very trick Honda 750-4s are rolled through tech inspection at Daytona in 1970. Ten YEARS later Honda had to pay Bugs $$$$ to come to the 10 year anniversary event at Daytona and wear a Honda shirt and jacket. True story.

The late Gene Romero, an AMA champ and Daytona winner, works on his factory Triumph at Daytona. Note 'Team Mexican' and 'Burritto' on fairing. After his 200 win Romero went and visited Sheene in the hospital.
