Reuters: Liberty Media To Be given Unconditional Approval for MotoGP Takeover
no concessions
DFA
Reuters reports that Liberty Media, the U.S.-based owner of Formula One, is set to receive unconditional antitrust approval from the European Union for its €3.5 billion ($3.8 billion) acquisition of Dorna Sports, the owner of MotoGP, according to sources familiar with the matter. The deal, announced in April of the previous year, involves Liberty Media acquiring an 86% stake in MotoGP, while Dorna’s management retains the remaining 14%, resulting in a total enterprise value of €4.2 billion for the combined entity. Despite earlier concerns from the European Commission about potential effects on broadcasting rights and competition—especially in regions where Liberty Global operates—sources indicate that no concessions will be required for approval.

A final decision from the EU is expected by July 1.
