The Answer Is Always: Ask Tom

For more than 40 years, those fortunate enough to know him well have leaned on him for guidance. And not just anyone—these are people of real talent and accomplishment, the kind who usually don’t need much help from anyone, thank you very much. Yet, when the road splits and the choices get murky—whether the dilemma is small, medium, or life-changing—they’ve known exactly where to turn.
"Ask Tom".
The late Nicky Hayden did. So have Don Sakakura of Yoshimura, Tom Halverson of Yamaha, Dan Fahie of Kawasaki, Jorge Lorenzo, Tim Estenson, and very likely even figures like MotoGP overlord Lin Jarvis, and a busload of others. If you're Valentino Rossi and you want an XR750 or three for your collection, you know where to go for answers.
"Ask Tom."
That role of steady compass isn’t something he grew into—it’s kinda something he’s always been. Tommy Hayden seemed to arrive in this world already cast as the backbone not only of his own family but of the larger circle around him. When the younger Hayden kids were still in diapers, and Earl was grinding away at the car lot by day and playing poker by night, all to keep the household afloat, those kids looked at Tommy and probably saw more than a sibling. They probably saw, in many ways, a second father.
And over the years, whether it was world champions, industry leaders, or family leaning on him, they’ve all shared one guiding principle in times of doubt—one simple two-word phrase that has never failed them: "Ask Tom".
