Retired broadcaster Larry Maiers phoned the Soup office the other day to share some old bench racing stories.
Maiers is still going strong for 84 years old and is as sharp as ever.
His version of the Kenny Roberts/Penton dirt tracker/Roberts Frame Shop/Mike Kidd/Bart Markel eventual garage fire bench racing story remains the most entertaining recounting of that affair.
