Kurtis Roberts, in just his second AMA Pro race, leads the 250GP field at Homestead-Miami in May of 1996. Many think of 1998 as Roberts’ first AMA season, but as this photo proves, he did run a couple of events in ’96 as a 17 year old before racing the 250 Grand Prix World Championships in 1997.
